Hi. Now that there is no ota updates for echos, Thair website has the downloads. My problem is that the sat set up isabout 25 mts fom the computer. The echo has a 9 pin serial port. Is it posible to get a cable with one end a female plug and the other a female usb , then get a memory stick to download updates and transfer to the echo. Any help welcome. guitar man

you can get usb to rs232 but you have to make sure it all works, especially with vista.... some just allow it to save channels but not up load them (or s/w)... almost worth keeping an older pc just for those jobs (worth nothing now) .. the rs2322 will work ok on older pcs.... not sure if you make a lead that long it will work ok..

no that will not work
you need the computer to connect first then send it down.
the cable required is a null modem cable as used by many machines, not a straight connection.
Best bet if you have a null modem cable is find a freind with a laptop youi can borrow.

Also are you sure you dont already have the latest software dont think there has been a update since march 2005version 1100 when they released some beta stuff.

Hi , On echo's site there are a number of downloads. Its a while now since I last tooked to see what they are so i'll probably start again.
I have just purchased a lap top today so i'll have to get an adaptor lead.
If these are ok how do I download from comp to echo?
Many thanks. guitar man.:001_07:
