right im having a big issue with this, im not new to it but this ones doing my **** in.
pc/router/dreambox
set to dchp,
dcc wont connect at all all red, correct ips inserted
flash fxp wont connect says fail.
user root
pass dreambox
now whats happening?
everything is correct ive connect a million times with my old dreambox but this 800 wont have it,
it connects to the net ok because ive downloaded plugins from it.
only thing i can think of is user and password.
the new diab blackhole v0.5 img is on it, is the user password standard on this img or is it different like on some 500c imgs.
any help would be welcomed as its doing my head in now.
just to add the error in dcc is this : error 10057 in function send socket is not connected

Don't use DCHP for starters, set your own static IP that way you can manage it your self.
The problem though is in network set up, you have not added the ip of the dchp server which would be your router.

have never had any issues with dchp ever and ive been at this dreambox lark years, not sat ones but non the less.
i will check the network settings but im 100% sure the router ip is in there aswell as the ip set to the box,
i will double check and report back.

nope the dm800 already set that auto, all checks from a network test come back fine from the dreambox. (the setting on the 800)
pc ip is 192.168.1.2
router ip 192.168.1.1
dream ip 192.168.1.3
all set correct all set correct in dcc.

Get your network settings on screen, the type 192.168.1.3/grab into your browser.
This will get a screen shot.
Upload it for me.

it grabs the screen pic fine, i can upload it to imgshack if you like but i dont know why you need it but it grabbed the img fine.
i can even connect to the download plugins, it just wont connect from one to the other, no firewalls antivirus running either.
and its not restart network, ive been doing dreamboxes years i know that, but on this occasion its not playing ball, the whole network has been reset numerous times, hence why i posted for help, but thanks for the replies.

yep except mines set to dchp now, ive tried it both ways mate, thats why im stumped that it wont connect either with flashfxp or dcc.
the run tests button comes back all clear too.
also in my router settings it shows them both connected.

And you have your router ip set in Primary DNS ?
hmm very strange but do try static ip and reboot box and router.

nope tried all the above i double check each time, its usually very simple for me, this is the first time ive had an issue with it ever,
thats why i know the settings are right.
hence why i wondered if the new blackhole v0.5 had a different login and password as im stumped on what else it can be as the box is hooked up to the net as i can download plugins from the menu ect...
its getting the pc and dream together thats the prob, and it can be one of to things, networks settings or login/password.
im stumped, im going to try a different pc soon to see if that helps but i cant see why it would.

sussed it, i went through all my setting and under the blue button i checked the settings in there, seems telnet was running in there i disabled it and i connected straight away with flashfxp.
dont ask me why or how but that was the cause.
