What image are you guy's using ?
and are you multiboot ?
mkfs failed
Is normally an indication that part of the hard drive is 'nackered'.
Maybe taking the drive out connect it to a pc and run some test utility software from the drive manufacture on it.

Hi guys,
Sonic, im using LT latest img m8
AJR, its brand new HDD from ebuyer, what i think ill do is send it back and replace it with a HDD confimed working fine, maybe the TRAVELSTAR 5K320 HITACHI, i read on here that aabs has it and it works fine.

sorry no its not working, will have to try and format it on pc see if that helps, the hard drive is not that old and the dreambox detects the size of the drive

I sent the HDD back as Toshiba said it "could be the HDD", i replaced it with a Hitachi, I then tried to initialize it and it failed again !...i then changed image to new nabilo(what an image this is) and it initialized and works 100%, watched a couple of movies i tranfered off my pc :), try another image before a total strip Paul.
Happy days

Thanks Leeboy. I got a DM800 some days ago, and couldn't get the recording to work on my 500 WD harddisk. I tried ALOT of things, but after finding this thread, I also tried to install Nabilo Image and now I can record on my Harddisk without any problem !
My harddisk didn't work under Gemini, Oosoon or anything else I tried. But after installing Nabilo 0.7 it records even using red button.
