How to update the map on a tomtom 510

ive the 510 with map v650.1046 ,as you can tell about 3 years old so it badly needs new map what can i update it with and how do it.

Do i need to delete anything from my sd card or do i load on top of the old stuff.

To use the v815 maps you need software version 8.2 or higher & you'll also want to get the v801 postcode files. The map will have to be activated using the easyusetool.
Everything you need is posted in this section - make a full back up copy first, or use a new memory card.
