im trying to fine tune my dish ,i have my dish set that if it is at 0.8west with about 85% signal (best that i can get) the marks on the motor is also reading about 1 west is this right or do you set it to you long and lat ,mine being long 6.2 west and lat 54.2 north
0.8-6.2= 5.4 so my motor sould be reading 5.4 east when the dish is picking up thor 0.8west ???

many thanks davo

Which satellite are you using to get your true south? From where you are you should be using 5W! Align the dish with zero on the mount then rotate the mount around the pole to get maximum signal from 5W. This presupposes that you have your dish and mount angles correctly set for your latitude. Have a search on the forum for a file called Arc.zip which I uploaded some time ago. It explains all the necessary angles. If you can't find it I'll upload it again.

5W will be better. Try 11591 V 20000 2/3 France2

Acoording to LyngSat it should come in on a 50cm in your location.

BTW - I wouldn't be quite so accurate with your site location (Gronant ?) - particularly if you later post about totally inadvertantly receiving a scrambled signal. :D
