No M8 - just trying to say the 'right thing' - as YES I'm told it DOES do what you suggest, but I personally have still had no luck in making it work properly in MY 6900HD Super!! lol!!!:bravo-009:

I must be psychic!!! I just logged in to ask the ethernet question as I have just ordered a 6900, when I saw your post.
Obviously this is a new ball game for TM owners.
If anyone has any info it will be much appreciated.:hurray:

I would say that the answer is yes , you are on the right track
but you must not discuss it on either forum , only the technical issues can be discussed by those who are inexpierenced in networking issues such as the use of ethernet cables , routers etc ( pc networking issues )
no discussions of cs or servers is allowed on either of the two forums
previous allowed information was posted here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=95126

No probs M8 - I still suggest you look on PC Dudes if no-one comes forward re your latest question which I for one cannot answer as I dont know anything about the cam you mention!
Good luck M8!:respect-055:
Hi M8
"I for one cannot answer as I dont know anything about the cam you mention!"
It's not a Cam like the Diablo, it is piece of software used in CS receivers, I'm sure someone will correct me if this not the case.

OK this is what I know, ( I know more but wont tell you on here :respect-055: )
This receiver will do what you want it to do but not out the box.
You have to patch it with the latest soft.
It is a bit like the db100 or Octagon918.
It is not linux it is a patchable receiver that just happens to have a LAN socket.
I have been told it works OK with newcamd. It will not work with CCcam.
CCcam is mainly focused on dreamboxes and they are not currently interested in support for any other receiver.
Hope this helps

@Aldo:
Thanx for pointing THAT out to me M8 - shows how much I know about all that - never needed it so havent a clue what its all about, Dragon, T-Rex, Matrix Reloaded CAMS are my 'forte' so thanks for sorting me out about the 'sinister' realms of c/s etc - much appreciate it M8!!
Thats probably why I never got the 8281 business to work on MY TM6900HD Super as its all a 'mystique' topic where computer buffs enjoy a different camaraderie to we mere mortals and its very difficult to break into without detailed assistance!:bravo-009::respect-055:

You sound a bit like me Holmrod. When I first decided to get a Dragon and TM5500 I read everything I could, but it all sounded so complicated. When I actually got one it all fell into place. When you have done it, anything is easy.
I will read everything I can about LAN and then take the plunge when I am reasonably sure I wont wreck my new STB. (I love it too much too hurt it)
Could anyone PM me a reliable Newcamd server free or paid so I can test.
Many thanks
