DiseqC 1.0 is only used for switching ports on a DiseqC switch on the Echostar.

Motors (36V, not DiseqC motors) are controlled by the Echostar's positioner.

No mate. They control 36V motors, either as a stand-alone positioner or through a receiver with DiseqC 1.2.

I have the old receiver myself and let me tell you it is catered for 36volts motor jacks not diseqc so if I were you change your motor on the dish to 36 volts jack and have the right cabling to go with it or it won't work. Personally I don't like Diseqc it is too slow and not very good for high winds if you have a big dish so personally it is the worst invention on the sat scene call me old fashioned but I like speed and power and Diseqc does not have it so I am steering clear of it so a big mistake by the receivers manufacturers to do away with 36v positioners etc.

the diseqc motor has it's uses limited I agree but a cheap and easy way into multi sat reception they used to have a high failure rate some makes are better than others

Disecq is for pansies and mixed up effeminate boys. Real men use 36 volts.
