HI my m8 is thinking about buying 1 of these, google and looked around on this site all he wants to know is it any good hes being told it opens all 1 west which i very much dought thanks any info please

Tell you mate not to bother, it only opens digi tv on 1w and when that goes its going to be a dead box. I have one that I won and I don't like it. It does not have either a card slot or a cam slot. Tell him to spend a little more and get a technomate or An other box with a cam and card slot. The other echolinks like the 3020 I think can take an abracadabra card and that opens even more than a diablo cam so that is a good option.
