Setting up legit Sly HD UK card on the IPBox 9000

Hey all,

Have taken the plunge and bought an IPBOX 9000 to replace our crappy Thomson Sly HD box. Its coming on Monday afternoon.

Just wondering if anyone knows how we go about getting our legit sly hd card running in the box - Was planning on installing an Enigma 2 image before finishing the setup - i've heard this helps [if anyone can help with an image recommendation that'd be great].

Ideally would like to just flash the box with a new image then stick the sly card in the internal reader and maybe enter the boxkey from the thomson box we have and have things come to life. Anything that easy?

Also not sure if we're going to want to do c/s - totally new to the whole world behind standard sky boxes so if its a lot of extra work to set up c/s won't do that yet.

Hiya & welcome to satdedez

You cant use you sly cards in the internal card slots yet but im sure its only a matter of time before this bug is fixed

These boxes have only been on the market for just over 12 months & since they went on sale the 3rd party software has improved alot although there are still many improvements to be made before it can be compared side by side say with a Dreambox 8000HD

Alot of folk use an external card reader for use with sly cards -im not sure which one is best but will try & find out for you -maybe someone can advise you on here

The c/s function of incubus camd works on client side only so far again im sure this will also work as server in the future

Mgcamd works on these boxes using E2 & DGS based images

Just to update on above post

Sly UK cards will work on Cuberevo internal card slots

Using PKT V5.6 E2 on USB stick & mgcamd & newcs for internal emu its working although its a bit crackly

I would image some of the settings need fine tuning to achieve perfection

a sky card needs a sky box every few weeks m8 for updates and stuff ,some recievers will do it but just check first

Ive also been advised they work with DGS based images using NewCS 1.67 and MgCamd version 1.31 & the external Violet Phoenix card reader.

I have installed the above img on USB, but no joy with my S*y UK card do I have to edit the newcs.xml ?? What do I need to edit ??
What newcs.xml version should I use ?

This is how its set up m8

Blue button on remote to access PKT manager

Select emu then emu manager

On top option select mgcamd 133 & green to restart

On bottom one press 2 to active NewCS internal slot

Card with chip facing down is in top card slot

It works but stutters a bit so might need to play around with emus & cams to achieve best results- ie earlier versions/combinations

Or its been suggested elsewhere to get it to work properly enter sly card box key on newcs file
